There are eight congressional races that are still undecided. In the House, Democrats hold all the undecided seats, and in that group, only two Democrats are leading their Republican opponents. Democrat Jerry McKerney has a slim lead in California's 11th District and Democrat Ben Chandler is holding his own in Kentucky's 6th District. Other Democrats in Illinois, New York, and Texas appear on the verge of defeat. In North Carolina, victory has been called for Bob Etheridge's Republican challenger, but officials expect a recount. Two other races remain unresolved: Democrat Mark Dayton holds a slim lead in Minnesota's governor's race while Lisa Murkowski, a Republican senator who ran on the Alaska Senate ballot as a write-in candidate, is ahead of her opponents.
