Elton John Pushes Congress on AIDS Fight

Sir Elton John told Congress on Wednesday it has the power to end the AIDS epidemic if it continues to fund the battle against the virus. "The Aids epidemic is not over and America's continued leadership is critical," he said. Senators Lindsey Graham and Patrick Leahy asked the musician to speak at a Senate hearing committee considering funding for the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, also known as PEPFAR. "This Congress indeed has the power to end aids," he added. "I am asking you to use that power, to seize this window of opportunity, to change the course of history.”
