Two days after he spoke about wanting to adopt a Ukrainian orphan named Lev, the country’s minister squashed the pop star’s ruminations of fatherhood. The minister explained that the 62-year-old singer is too old to care for the 14-month-old HIV-positive toddler. Another disqualification? He’s not married. John’s civil union with longtime partner David Furnish, 45, doesn’t count. "The law is the same for everybody: for a president, for a minister, for Elton John,” explained the official.
