Attorneys representing Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel have reportedly told a federal judge that they would be willing to admit that a code of silence exists in the Chicago police department, just to keep Emanuel from having to testify in the case of two whistleblower cops suing the city. US district judge Gary Feinerman has indicated that he'd like Emanuel to testify anyway in order to fully explain the situation. The lawsuit was brought by two officers who said that their department took action against them for working with the FBI on an investigation into a narcotics group that was seeking protection money from drug dealers.
