Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James said Thursday that enlisted airmen will be permitted to fly remotely piloted aircraft. This is the first time the U.S. Air Force has used enlisted pilots since World War II. The enlisted airmen will be able to fly RQ-4 Global Hawks, which are unarmed and do high-altitude reconaissance missions.
