Sigh: The head of the Pulitzer Prize board said Friday that the National Enquirer is ineligible for a prize for its coverage of the John Edwards’ love-child story. "We checked the Enquirer Web site, and it apparently calls itself a magazine. Under our rules, magazines (both print and Web versions) and broadcast entities are ineligible," said prize administrator Sid Gissler. The upcoming award is also only for stories written in 2009, and the bulk of the Enquirer’s story was reported in 2007 and 2008.
