Many of Senator John Ensign's fellow Republicans are still in shock about his admission of having had an affair with a campaign staffer, and are beginning to consider just how far he will fall. Now, Ensign, the fourth-highest-ranking GOP senator, is stepping down as chairman of the Republican Policy Committee. Ensign was also said to be considering at 2012 presidential run. Many of his Ensign's colleagues told Politico that they were still processing the revelation, but hinted that he was no longer an effective spokesman. Ensign was forced to make public his affair after being blackmailed by the man he cuckolded.
