Another cloud to hang over the Democrats’ heads this fall: The House ethics committee has formally charged California Democrat Maxine Waters with three counts of wrongdoing. Charges against the 10-term congresswoman include requesting federal help for her bank in which her husband owned stock and on whose board he served. She will likely face trial this fall before the committee, which is made up of four Democrats and four Republicans.
