According to diplomats in Brussels, the ambassadors of the 28-nation European Union have agreed to expanded sanctions on Russia over its actions in Ukraine. The new sanction will take effect Friday after they are published in the EU’s official journal. The details of the new economic sanctions were not revealed, but they will reportedly affect Russian firms’ access to European capital markets. The EU had previously postponed the sanctions twice.
