D.C. police arrested a former Memphis cop on Sunday after they found 20 guns, including assault weapons, in his car across the street from the White House. Retired Memphis patrolman Timothy Bates, 37, was reportedly spotted urinating near the White House. When a Secret Service officer approached him, Bates reportedly said he had come to the White House to meet National Security Agency director Mike Rogers and Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis “for advice on missing paychecks and how to get the dog chip out of my head,” according to a police report. Among the weapons in Bates’ car were a Bushmaster assault rifle, an AK-47, a semi-automatic pistol with a silencer, and brass knuckles. D.C. police arrested him on six weapons charges.
