Ex-NBAer Gets 23 Years for Manslaughter

Former NBA first-round draft pick Javaris Crittenton was sentenced to 23 years in prison after pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and firearms charges Wednesday. He was convicted for the 2011 shooting a 22-year-old mother of four, who’d just finished putting her kids to bed. Police say they believe he was out looking for a rival gang member on the night of the attack, and hit Jones accidentally. Crittenton was originally charged with murder.
