Mick Rock has one of the most fitting last names, well, ever.
The 68-year-old legendary rock ‘n’ roll lensman has famously photographed a bevy of rock gods, including The Ramones, Queen, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Joan Jett, the list goes on. For this, he’s known as “The Man Who Shot the Seventies.” Rock, a New York-based Brit, also served as David Bowie’s official photographer, snapping the bulk of his iconic Ziggy Stardust photos, as well as the album covers for the Bowie-produced Transformer by Lou Reed, and Raw Power by Iggy and the Stooges. His work has been exhibited in museums around the globe.
In addition to his rock photography, Rock has served as the chief photographer for several films, most notably John Cameron Mitchell’s Hedwig and the Angry Inch and the classic 1975 musical-comedy The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Now, in a poetic twist, Rock also photographed the cast of FOX’s The Rocky Horror Picture Show remake. In honor of the show’s new soundtrack—including the tune “Let’s Do the Time Warp Again”—which hits stores October 21st and boasts cast members Laverne Cox, Victoria Justice, Adam Lambert, Cristina Milian, Tim Curry (!), and more, check out these exclusive Mick Rock images of FOX’s Rocky Horror cast.
