Four coalition troops and one Afghan civilian were killed by a roadside bomb today, a grim reminder that the war in Afghanistan is far from over. As of last week, at least 581 troops have died since the invasion of Afghanistan began in 2001, according to the AP. The New York Times reported that civilian deaths in Afghanistan rose by 40 percent in 2008.
