Facebook is rolling out Instant Articles on the iPhone at 10 a.m. ET Wednesday, a new product that allows publishers to post articles directly to the social-media platform 10 times faster than before. The program is launching with nine partners, including The New York Times, National Geographic, BuzzFeed, NBC, TheAtlantic, TheGuardian, BBC News, Der Spiegel, and Bild. Instant Articles enables users to zoom in on high-resolution photos, watch auto-play videos, explore interactive maps, listen to audio captions and comment on individual portions of an article, according to Facebook product manager Michael Reckhow. Only select articles will be included in the initial launch.
