Facebook will soon ditch its “other” message folder, which is typically a repository for spam and unwanted messages that often go unnoticed by the individual user. Instead of the current system, where people who are not a user’s Facebook “friend” can send an unsolicited message and have it land in the “other” bin, Facebook will create an entirely new “message requests feature,” in which users can accept or ignore incoming messages without the sender knowing.
