Facebook will now allow some cryptocurrency advertisements from pre-approved advertisers, reversing a January decision to prohibit them. The social network stopped allowing the ads to avoid promoting “financial products and services frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices.” Promoting initial coin offerings and binary options, is still prohibited. In recent months, many cryptocurrencies have declined in value. Facebook advertisements have recently come under fire for their role in the 2016 elections.
