Facebook plans to launch a music service later this month, according to Mashable. The social network will team up with Spotify, MOG, and Rdio to allow users to listen to music. Facebook will not stream music directly but will instead rely on its partners—a marked contrast with Amazon, Google, and Apple, all of which host music on their servers. CNBC says the new service will be unveiled on Sept. 22.
