Nine models—from vets to newbies—are featured on the May issue of Vogue. The “Faces of the Moment” include Liya Kebede and Natalia Vodianova on the cover alongside newcomer Anna Jagodzinska, while Isabeli Fontana, Jourdan Dunn, Raquel Zimmermann, Lara Stone, Caroline Trentini, and Natasha Poly pop on the pull-out. Fashion photographer Steven Meisel’s 30-year career is dissected: As a “true postmodernist” he’s hailed as a Svengali who shaped the careers of Christy, Linda, and Naomi. Notably, this issue makes is the third consecutive one to feature black women—the last two were, of course, Michelle Obama and Beyonce.
