Family Reveals Country Icon’s Grandchild Has Tragically Died

Loretta Lynn’s granddaughter, Lynn Massey died after “long and difficult health battle,” according to a post on the country music legend’s Instagram page. She was 64. The daughter of Betty Sue Lynn, Massey was the first born of her grandmother’s 26 grandchildren. “Our family is so grateful for the prayers and love continually shown to us,” the post continued. Massey’s Grammy Award-winning grandma died in 2022 at the age of 90. Betty Sue Lynn died in 2013 from complications with emphysema. The Lynn family has been struck by various tragedies and health issues for decades, with the music icon’s son, Ernie, recently undergoing treatment for kidney failure. In 1984, the singing icon’s oldest son, Jack, tragically drowned.
