Gunter Sachs, a legendary German playboy who was briefly married to Brigitte Bardot, killed himself Saturday at the age of 78. He was born to a wealthy family in 1932 and used his wealth to turn himself into an object of tabloid fascination, dating famous stars and hanging out with artists like Andy Warhol. He married Bardot in 1966 but divorced her three years later. He killed himself after learning that he was suffering from an incurable degenerative disease that would impact his memory and ability to communicate.
