Far-Right Austrian Party Wins Election

Austria's anti-immigration far right political party won in the first round of presidential elections, with Norbert Hofer getting 36.7 percent of the vote. The candidate from the Social Democratic party came in fourth with just 11.2 percent of the vote, tied with the candidate from the People's party. This means that for the first time since 1945, Austria will not have a president backed by either of those two parties. Hofer, is known for carrying a Glock publicly and threatening to fire government officials who don't impose tougher restrictions on immigration.
