Far-Right Show TruNews Fearmongers: You’re Going to See ‘Christianity Become Criminalized’
Host Rick Wiles and colleagues pushed an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory while discussing the AIPAC conference and U.S.-Israel ties.
In a TruNews segment that aired on Wednesday afternoon, host Rick Wiles brought up the annual conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC)—and repeatedly insisted there is an ongoing war on Christianity.
“There’s a war against the one universal church of the world. All right. There’s one church. Not one denomination. One church. And there’s a war against that true church. That true church is made up of men and women in all denominations, in all countries, of all races, of all cultures. That’s the true church that believes in that apostolic doctrine. But there is a war against that church. And you’re going to see, you’re going to see belief in Christianity become criminalized.”
Part of the hour-and-a-half segment catered to the conspiracy theory that Jewish people are out to dominate the world, an idea that was popularized in an early 20th century publication called Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The text was found to be forged and fabricated in the 1920s, but the theory nonetheless made its way into the hands of Hitler during the Nazi era and is still widely circulated on the internet today.
During the segment on the right-wing TV outlet, Wiles and his colleagues, Edward Szall and Doc Burkhart, repeatedly insisted that Christianity has come under attack, while lamenting that it’s OK to be anti-Christian, but not anti-Semitic. At one point, they even read aloud the State Department’s definition of anti-Semitism and cited Israeli law to make their points.
Wiles continued the conversation by warning viewers they’re slowly “being Zionized.”
"By the way, pay attention to how many Christian ministry websites are now using the Hebrew calendar on their website. Watch. Just pay attention. You're being Zionized. Slowly, you're being Zionized."
