Hours after police near Dallas believe they found the body of missing 3-year-old Sherin Mathews, the adopted girl’s father was arrested and charged after he allegedly changed his story about her disappearance. Police in Richardson, Texas, say Wesley Mathews gave “an alternate statement of events” before and after Sherin’s body was found. The initial story made national headlines after Mathews said he sent his toddler daughter outside alone, into an alley, as punishment for not drinking her milk. He has been charged with injury to a child.
