FBI Agent Stole Heroin From Evidence

FBI Agent Matthew Lowry admitted to taking heroin from an evidence room and was charged Friday with 64 criminal counts, including obstruction of justice and posession of illegal drugs. According to The Washington Post, the theft “upended year-long investigations involving three significant drug organizations responsible for selling pounds of heroin and cocaine” in Washington, D.C. Fellow agents discovered the heroin in Lowry’s car in September. Lowry’s attorney said the agent started using heroin after becoming hooked on prescription painkillers.
