The News of the World phone hacking scandal has crossed the pond. A law enforcement official says the FBI has opened an investigation into claims that News Corp. tried to hack into the phones of people who died in the September 11 terrorist attacks. The News Corp. tabloid News of the World is believed to have hacked into the voicemail of the victims of the 2005 London train bombings, as well as the families of dead soldiers. Seven people have been arrested so far in connection the hacking scandal, and Rupert and James Murdoch have agreed to go before Parliament next week.
