Over the weekend, an FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force raided homes and arrested seven people as part of an investigation of Michigan-based Christian militia group Hutaree—a group that, according to its Web site, is "preparing for the end time battles to keep the testimony of Jesus Christ alive." Mike Lackomar of Michiganmilitia.com told The Detroit News he'd heard that the FBI zeroed in on Hutaree following violent threats they made to Islamic organizations. Lackomar was quick to point out the differences between other Michigan paramilitary organizations and Hutaree: "They are a religious cult. They are not part of our militia community," he said. Arrests in conjunction with the investigation have also been made in Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana. The FBI said that the federal warrants for the arrests were under court seal.
