Fears and Water Rise in Brisbane

Australia Floods

Search and rescue to begin when water clears.

The city of Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, is normally inhabited by two million residents. But now, with flood waters and highs tides, it is a ghost town. Electricity is shut down, residents are forced to leave their homes in boats, and a bull shark has been spotted in the flood waters. Flash floods have caused at least 12 deaths so far with at least 50 missing people in the Lockyer Valley, west of Brisbane. Search and rescue operations will begin as soon as rain water clears.
