The news comes on the heels of public comments made by U.S. Attorney for Southern California André Birotte in a Justice Department news conference Tuesday affirming that the case he had spent two years fighting—including drug distribution, fraud, and conspiracy—would not be reopened. “Birotte does not speak for the federal government as a whole,” the source said. According to the report, the fallen champion is still under investigation for “obstruction, witness tampering, and intimidation.” Looks like a confessional with Oprah isn’t the forgiver of all sins.
