New York State Senate Leader Dean Skelos and his son are the target of a new federal investigation, The New York Times reported Wednesday. The federal investigation focuses on the younger Skelos, Adam Skelos, and whether his father played a role in his business dealings with Arizona company AbTech Industries, according to people with knowledge of the case. The younger Skelos was hired by the company to serve as a consultant while AbTech was awarded a stormwater-treatment contract in the Long Island Republican’s Nassau County. A $20,000 payment to Adam Skelos made by an insurance firm he never worked for is also part of the probe.
