Few People Show Up for Paul Rally

Is bad marketing or Southern conservatism to blame for Paul's weak S.C. support.

With all of the excitement surrounding Newt Gingrich, Stephen Colbert, and even Mitt Romney in South Carolina, has Ron Paul been forgotten? Probably not, but his following in the first Southern primary state is certainly less robust than in New Hampshire. While just a few weeks ago, Paul held a rally at a Manchester airport hangar that had people spilling out into the street, a South Carolina rally in a North Charleston hangar was minimally attended. A local radio host blamed the weak turnout of Paul supporters both on the fact that "his word hasn't gotten out enough down here" and "people are being fearmongered out of support for him."
