Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV is being investigated by Justice Department for alleged fraud, Bloomberg News reports. Federal prosecutors are said to be probing whether the car maker broke securities laws, sources told the news outlet. While the sources were unable to provide specific details on what is being investigated, Bloomberg points to a civil lawsuit in which a Chicago-area auto dealer alleged the carmaker inflated its U.S. sales by paying dealerships to report higher sales than in actuality.
