Embattled FIFA President Sepp Blatter is reportedly under investigation for his role in a $100 million bribery scandal, the BBC reported Sunday. The FBI is reportedly investigating sports-marketing company ISL for allegedly paying $100 million to various FIFA officials in exchange for a television and marketing rights deal during the 1990s. Blatter has denied knowledge of the bribes. According to the BBC report, the FBI obtained a letter written by former FIFA President Joao Havelange—who is also involved in the bribery scandal—discussing the ISL payments and Blatter’s knowledge of their existence. The 79-year-old president was provisionally suspended for 90 days in October over a $2 million payment to UEFA President Michel Platini in 2011. His successor will be chosen during elections on Feb. 26.
