A fifth man was apprehended on Saturday in connection with the horrific gang-rape and murder of two teenage girls in India. The two girls, who were cousins aged 14 and 15, were attacked after they left their home on Tuesday night to relieve themselves. They were found raped and hung from a mango tree the following morning. Two of the five current suspects are policemen accused of dereliction of duty and criminal conspiracy; two more officers have been fired for failing to investigate when relatives reported the girls missing. The last three suspects are cousins in their 20s who face rape and murder charges, which are punishable with the death penalty.
