Director Sam Taylor-Johnson is leaving the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise and will not return for the next installment based on the E.L. James’ bestselling series, Deadline reported Wednesday. “While I will not be returning to direct the sequels, I wish nothing but success to whosoever takes on the exciting challenges of films two and three,” Taylor-Johnson said in a statement. Taylor-Johnson reportedly had creative differences with the author. The first movie has already grossed more than half a billion dollars at worldwide box offices.
