Five Dead in Mali Nightclub Attack

Five people were killed when a hooded assailant stormed a popular nightclub in Mali and attacked using a gun and grenades. Three Malians—a policeman, a security guard, and a young woman—were killed, along with a Frenchman and a Belgian. The attacker reportedly shouted “Allahu akbar” as he entered the nightclub, in the capital city of Bamako. When the suspect made his getaway from the nightclub, he shot dead the Belgium in front of his house in a nearby street and hurled a grenade at a police car, killing the officer inside. Two suspects have been arrested, according to police.
