An Air France flight was screened at JFK airport this morning after a phone call warned of a chemical threat onboard. Fighter jets assembled at 10,000 feet to escort the plane to its safe landing. Port Authority Police swept the plane even after the threat was deemed uncredible. Yet this threat was only one of many directed at commercial planes throughout the day. An American Airlines flight was also threatened but was similarly safe and sound when swept at JFK airport. An additional three threats are being evaluated at Newark airport.
