A historic seven feet of snow were dumped on Buffalo, New York over the course of three days this week, killing at least 12 people—but with the sun coming back out this weekend and temperatures rising up to 60 degrees, Buffalo is now bracing for floods. The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for Sunday to Wednesday. Flooding will most likely affect mostly basements and local creeks, according to deputy Erie County executive Richard Tobe, but New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has ordered the state to send in pumps, boats, helicopters and high-axle vehicles. “If we’re lucky we won’t need any of it,” he said. “But prepare for the worst and hope for the best.”
