Congressman-elect Carlos Gimenez and his wife have tested positive for COVID-19 but are not experiencing any symptoms, he said in a statement. The Florida Republican said that the couple had previously tested negative several times before learning they were infected, but he did not say how they may have been exposed. As mayor of Miami-Dade, Gimenez bucked Gov. Ron DeSantis by imposing stricter lockdown measures than the state wanted, but his Democratic successor says he didn’t go far enough.
