Florida’s Republican Governor Rick Scott on Friday called for FBI Director Christopher Wray to resign, in light of news that the FBI failed to act upon a tip about Nikolas Cruz, the alleged shooter who killed 17 people at a high school this week. “The FBI’s failure to take action against this killer is unacceptable,” Scott wrote in a statement. “An apology will never bring these 17 Floridians back to life or comfort the families who are in pain.. The FBI Director needs to resign.” The FBI on Friday admitted that “protocols were not followed” after the bureau received a tip about Cruz, reportedly from “someone close to him.”
