A Florida man was arrested Thursday after allegedly having sex and creating child pornography with an underage boy he met through Fortnite, The Miami Herald reports. Anthony Gene Thomas, 41, allegedly brought the unnamed boy to his home in Broward County after having met him through a friend on the game. The boy reportedly discussed the “difficulties of his home life” to Thomas, and Thomas reportedly gave him “gifts, credit cards and then a cellphone to allow the boy to call him.” In August last year, Thomas and his friend allegedly picked up the boy from his home and brought him to Thomas’ home for sex. The boy’s parents reported him missing, and the boy reportedly came home the following day. Police later obtained a search warrant for Thomas’ phone, and found “pornographic pictures and videos” of the boy. “This case is disturbing not only because it involves child pornography, but also because a popular online game was used to communicate with the victim,” Attorney General Ashley Moody said, adding that there “could be additional victims.” Thomas is currently being held on bond for $780,000.
