A group of brothers and cousins from Indiana fought off a gunman who tried to rob them at a Florida gas station during spring break, ABC News reports. Brothers Alec and Jacob Tanoos and their cousins, Alex and Aric Wisbey, were vacationing in Fort Lauderdale early Sunday morning when an armed man approached Alec at the gas station and pressed a gun into his stomach, ordering the group to fork over their valuables. Jacob reportedly made a move to grab the man’s gun and Alex rushed to put him in a chokehold before the group tackled the gunman to the ground. “It didn’t seem real, it seemed like it was out of a movie,” Alec, who was pumping gas when the gunman approached, told reporters. “He just walked up and had the gun on me.” The incident occurred near the victims’ hotel on their way back from a party. Surveillance footage from the scene showed the gunman racing up to the group with what appeared to be a shirt wrapped around his face before he ultimately ran off when they put up a fight.
