It's been a big day for endorsements. First Rick Perry dropped out of the GOP race and endorsed Newt Gingrich—a man he once referred to disdainfully as an "establishment insider." Newt also nabbed one of Jon Huntsman's key supporters, Mike Campbell, son of South Carolina's former governor, and a group of 100 Tea Party leaders announced they'd be forming a coalition around the former speaker. Gingrich isn't the only one who's expanded his support network today. Rick Santorum received an endorsement from James C. Dobson, founder of the conservative evangelical group Focus on the Family. "He has pleaded with the nation and its leaders to come to the aid of marriages, parents, and their children. What a refreshing message," Dobson said in a statement. He also cited "his knowledge of international politics, especially Israel and the turmoil in the Middle East" as reasons for supporting the former Pennsylvania senator. Mitt Romney got a new supporter as well—Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio threw his weight behind the former Massachusetts governor Thursday.
