California authorities on Sunday identified Itzcoatl Ocampo, 23, a former Marines, as the man arrested as the alleged serial killer of the homeless. Ocampo was arrested Friday while allegedly fatally stabbing a homeless man named John Berry in Orange County. At least two bystanders reportedly chased Ocampo while shouting “it’s the serial killer!” Ocampo, suspected in the four slayings, reportedly told his uncle “I did something terrible” just four days after the killings started. Ocampo returned from Iraq in 2010, and his uncle said his nephew had been “sick” since his return.
