As federal investigations into illegal stock deals continue, the FBI arrested four people from top tech companies in connection with insider trading on Thursday. The arrestees: James Fleishman, an executive for Primary Global Research; Mark Anthony Longoria of AMD; Walter Shimoon of Flextronics International Ltd; and Manosha Karunatilaka of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. A fifth, Daniel DeVore of Dell, was previously arrested and has pleaded guilty. "A corrupt network of insiders at some of the world’s leading technology companies served as so-called consultants who sold out their employers by stealing and then peddling their valuable inside information," said the U.S. attorney in charge of the case. The journey to the arrests began in late November, when an employee at an investing advice firm leaked privileged information about the technology companies to a hedge fund cooperating with authorities.
