After December 10, New York high schoolers will have to find a new place to get their fruity alcoholic drinks. The State Liquor Authority convinced beverage distributors to stop delivering Four Loko, an energy drink that contains the equivalent of three beers and three and a half cups of coffee. Fines will be enforced at any store selling the drink after the December deadline. According to the New York Daily News, local bodega stores will be happy to see the drink off their shelves. A worker at a deli said, "Sometimes kids come in before school. They buy them like crazy." Once the ban is in effect, concerns are mounting that the drink could be sold on the street illegally.
