Jesse Watters said the president was being the bigger person by not calling the Tesla CEO a “drug addict.”

Fox News host Jesse Watters said President Donald Trump is “taking the high road” amid his war of words with Elon Musk.

Despite his rant from the Oval Office and subsequent social media tirades about the Tesla CEO, “Trump so far has taken the high road,” Watters said as the other pundits at the table laughed.

He defended his point: “Think about it. I thought he was going to call him a drug addict about an hour ago. He hasn’t called him that yet,” Watters said on The Five Thursday.

The spat between Musk and Trump started Thursday when Musk called Trump’s “big, beautiful” spending bill, currently before Congress, a “disgusting abomination.”

Trump retaliated with a series of taunts from the Oval Office and online, telling the public that Musk was “wearing thin” around the White House before he cut ties, and “I asked him to leave.”

Trump also threatened to “terminate” Musk’s billion-dollar government contracts, calling the former “first buddy” “crazy.”

The feud hit a crescendo when Musk announced on X that the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s files on alleged sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein have not been fully released because Trump was implicated in them. He also called for Trump’s impeachment and said he wouldn’t have won the election without his $290 million in personal donations.

So far, Trump hasn’t gone for the lowest blow, bringing up a bombshell New York Times report alleging that the Tesla CEO was an avid drug user on the campaign trail. Watters said that was to Trump’s credit on Thursday.

“The money was great,” the Fox host said, “Trust me, the money helped. Thank you, Elon Musk. But if money wins elections, Kamala should have coasted.”

Watters said that perhaps Musk needed to “blow off some steam” and would ultimately come back into the fold.

“This guy’s the mega donor. So you don’t want him accusing you of being a pedophile, and you don’t want him calling for your impeachment,” Watters continued. “I hope he doesn’t mean that. But maybe they can patch things up.”

After all, he added, “Vance called Trump Hitler and he’s on the ticket.”
