Fox News Insiders Reveal Truth About Network’s Trump Snubs

Fox News is skipping Donald Trump’s midterm rallies because viewers are just not that into him anymore, network insiders have revealed.
“This is coming from the top down,” a current Fox host told CNN, on condition of anonymity. “Trump doesn’t rate anymore.”
The traditionally Trump-friendly network’s shift comes as some Republican candidates are also distancing themselves from Trump ahead of the midterm elections.

“We talk so much about how Trump is the ‘executive producer in chief’ but often forget that even the most popular shows tend to run out of steam after one season too many,” veteran Republican strategist Doug Heye said.

“That’s exactly where we are and why — whether you’re in Lake of the Ozarks or Emmetsburg, Iowa, fewer Trump flags are being flown every day.”

Fox News, America’s most-watched cable channel, has historically been a major way for Trump to reach voters. But the network has hardly covered five of his rallies this week.

The 80-year-old president has melted down over his loss of coverage, calling the rallies “the hottest things out there” and complaining that “nothing shows up on Fox!”
“Sad to see that Fox & Friends (Sunday) is not covering our packed house and incredibly enthusiastic (beyond!) Rally that took place in Ohio last night, or the ones in Alabama, Texas, or Oklahoma over the past two days,” the president wrote on Truth Social.

Insiders are delivering a reality check, however. Trump “needs Fox way more than Fox needs him,” Mediaite co-managing editor and former Fox News staffer Tom Durante wrote on Wednesday.
Other conservative networks are hoping to capitalize on Fox’s limited coverage of Trump’s rallies.
Charles Herring, president of One America News, said his channel is running all of Trump’s midterm rallies, “generally commercial-free, typical of our live coverage of events.”

But OAN’s viewership is significantly smaller than Fox’s.
Laura Ingraham cut to Trump’s San Antonio, Texas, rally on her Wednesday show, but it was not the glorifying coverage Trump is used to getting from the network.
Correspondent Brooke Taylor gave the scene a harsh assessment.
“This is a state he won by nearly 14 points just two years ago, and now he’s finding himself back here in Texas defending this state and keeping it red. I mean, hard to believe those words are even coming out of my mouth, right?”
Ingraham then turned to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent for an interview.
At the end of the day, Fox News is a media company that needs to draw viewers in.
In Durante’s words, “They [Fox] were around long before Trump became a political candidate. And they’ll be there long after he’s out of office.”
