It appears as though Fox doesn’t want to share its content. The media company has filed a lawsuit against a website that streams live television over the Internet known as BarryDriller.com. The suit claims the site committed copyright infringement by rebroadcasting its programs without permission. BarryDriller.com is modeled after Aereo, another high-profile, live-streaming website backed by media entrepreneur Barry Diller, the CEO of IAC (which owns the Newsweek Daily Beast Company). Aereo recently won a major legal battle against broadcasters when a judge declined to shut down the content retransmission service. Representatives for BarryDriller.com wouldn’t comment on the lawsuit.
