France Defeats Belgium, Advances to World Cup Final

France defeated Belgium 1-0 Tuesday and will be advancing to the World Cup final. The French team will face the winner of the England-Croatia game, which will be played tomorrow in Moscow. Belgium will play the loser of that game to determine third place. French defender Samuel Umtiti scored the game's only goal. After a scoreless first half, he headed Antoine Griezmann's corner kick past Belgian goalie Thiebaut Courtois in the game's 51st minute. France has won the World Cup once in 1998 in its home country. The game was much less dramatic than Saturday's 2-2 showdown between Russia and Croatia that ended in penalty kicks.
