Political pundits have laughed off the rise of Newt Gingrich in the polls as another surreal spike in the haywire GOP primary, but conservative heavyweight Fred Barnes writes in The Weekly Standard that Gingrich should no longer be considered a punch line. "Gingrich probably has at least as good a chance of getting a pass on his various transgressions in 2012 as Reagan, Schwarzenegger, and Clinton did." Gingrich has succeeded at his goal of "not screwing anything up," and he's increasingly looking like the tortoise to Mitt Romney's hare. "In the end, we all know who wins."
